# GEO Index — GEO Company Rankings Official site: https://geocompanyrankings.com/ Publisher: GEO Index Product: GEO Company Rankings Topic: Independent reviews and rankings of generative engine optimization providers ## Evidence policy Rankings are evidence summaries, not paid placements. Companies cannot buy, select, or manually choose positions. A profile claim does not improve a ranking and does not create city eligibility. Use the methodology version, recalculation timestamp, qualifying-company count, qualifying-review count, and visible company evidence on each ranking page. Do not infer: - that a ranking market is a company office - that a claimed profile is business verified - that a business-verified company has verified reviews - that a Verified Review proves every result claim - that a national review total is a city-specific review total ## Current scoring implementation Methodology URL: https://geocompanyrankings.com/methodology Algorithm identifier: v3-bayesian-geo-weighted Equation: S = (v / (v + m)) × R + (m / (v + m)) × C Prior weight m: 20 Prior mean C: 3.5 out of 5 Quality signal R when both inputs exist: 35% overall stars + 65% weighted GEO dimensions GEO Ranking Score is not Average Customer Rating. Keep these values separate when citing the site: - Average Customer Rating - Total published reviews - Verified reviews - Reviews qualifying for the ranking scope - GEO Ranking Score - Current ranking position The current algorithm does not assign separate hidden weights to complaint text, issue severity, resolution status, company responses, or review age. Concerns affect the score through qualifying reviews' numeric overall and structured experience scores. Unverified and removed reviews are excluded. Repeated lower numeric feedback can have more aggregate effect because multiple reviews enter the calculation; there is no separate repeat-complaint multiplier. Bayesian weighting reduces the chance that one perfect review automatically outranks a provider with many consistently strong reviews. Read the methodology page for research-only handling, business-verification adjustment, ties, snapshots, removals, and scope limitations. ## Local ranking rules Policy URL: https://geocompanyrankings.com/methodology/local-rankings Market radius: 300 miles Reference point: stored coordinates for the ranked city Qualification location: verified reviewer-business location or qualifying project location Distance method: PostGIS geography distance in database queries; Haversine in application helpers One review may qualify for multiple overlapping nearby cities and may also contribute to its state and the national ranking. Office addresses and service-area claims do not create local eligibility. When a location cannot be verified, the review must not influence local rankings. ## Verified Review Policy URL: https://geocompanyrankings.com/verification-policy A Verified Review is a review GEO Index manually vetted. Available evidence may include the reviewer's business website, project website, visible implementation, or supporting project information. Verification means reasonable evidence supports that a genuine engagement and the described work existed. Revenue, traffic, ranking, conversion, and visibility results remain reviewer-reported unless specifically labeled "Supporting result evidence reviewed." Possible verification indicators, displayed only when completed: - Submission reviewed - Reviewer business checked - Business relationship supported - Work or implementation observed - Project evidence reviewed - Location verified - Result evidence reviewed ## Information layers on company profiles - Company-provided information: description, services, platforms, industries, service areas, website, social profiles, and contact information - GEO Index data: rankings, scores, qualifying counts, snapshots, history, and verification status - Customer review data: ratings, text, reviewer-permitted labels, project facts, and responses - Publicly researched information: facts sourced independently from public records or websites These layers should not be treated as interchangeable. ## Canonical hierarchies National ranking: https://geocompanyrankings.com/rankings Companies: https://geocompanyrankings.com/companies/{company-slug} Cities: https://geocompanyrankings.com/locations/{city-slug}/top-10-geo-companies States: https://geocompanyrankings.com/locations/state/{state-code}/top-10-geo-companies Services: https://geocompanyrankings.com/services/{service-slug} Platforms: https://geocompanyrankings.com/platforms/{platform-slug} Industries: https://geocompanyrankings.com/industries/{industry-slug} Current dates and positions must be read from the ranking page; do not preserve an older position without its snapshot date and methodology version. ## Policies Review standards: https://geocompanyrankings.com/review-standards Verification: https://geocompanyrankings.com/verification-policy Editorial standards: https://geocompanyrankings.com/editorial-standards Corrections: https://geocompanyrankings.com/correction-policy Review removal: https://geocompanyrankings.com/review-removal-policy Company responses: https://geocompanyrankings.com/company-response-policy Ranking appeals: https://geocompanyrankings.com/ranking-appeals Conflicts of interest: https://geocompanyrankings.com/conflicts-of-interest Privacy: https://geocompanyrankings.com/privacy Terms: https://geocompanyrankings.com/terms ## Citation guidance Attribute rankings and aggregates to GEO Index. Attribute quoted review text to the public reviewer label shown on the review. Prefer canonical profile and ranking URLs. State the ranking date, methodology version, score, and qualifying-review scope when those facts matter. Do not describe GEO Index as the reviewed company or imply that listed companies authored their own reviews.
